The Threat of Nuclear War, North Korea or the United States?

Michel Chossudovsky offers a sober analysis of who really has the potential to usher in nuclear war – the answer will come as no surprise to readers of this blog.

Via Global Research:

While the Western media portrays North Korea’s nuclear weapons program as a threat to Global Security, it fails to acknowledge that the US has being threatening North Korea with a nuclear attack for more than half a century.

On July 27, 2013, Armistice Day, Koreans in the North and the South will be commemorating the end of the Korean war (1950-53). Unknown to the broader public, the US had envisaged the use of nuclear weapons against North Korea at the very outset of the Korean War in 1950. In the immediate wake of the war, the US deployed nuclear weapons in South Korea for use on a pre-emptive basis against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in violation of the July 1953 Armistice Agreement.

If this theory is correct, we may live in a web of alternate timelines

Flicking through some back issues of Sight and Sound magazine in the bathroom earlier I came across an old review of Donnie Darko then shortly afterwards stumbled across this article – seems appropriate to post it.

Via io9:

The Many Worlds Interpretation of quantum physics has been around for nearly 60 years. It’s a highly controversial idea which suggests that our world — and everything in it — is constantly splitting into alternative timelines. If it’s correct, here’s what your true existence might actually be like.

Over a hundred years ago, the discovery of quantum physics ruined the party. Our comfortable, clockwork conception of universe was thrown into disarray with the realization that, at the micro-scale, there’s some crazy funky stuff going on.

Whatever Happened to Parapsychology?

Is parapsychology a load of pseudoscientific nonsense, or is there more to it than meets the eye?

Via Discovery:

It seems that stories of the paranormal sprout up every day, and everywhere, in pop culture and the media. Weird news websites number in the hundreds, and there are entire television series dedicated to psychic abilities, hauntings and paranormal investigation.

But that’s all showbiz, really. The actual academic study of parapsychology — the established term for phenomena such as clairvoyance, psychokinesis, telepathy and precognition — has seemingly disappeared since its heyday in the mid-20th century. So what happened to parapsychology?

CIA backs $630,000 study into how to control global weather through geoengineering

Geoengineering is nothing new – weather warfare was banned by the UN back in the late 1970s…

Via The Independent:

The power, reach and influence of the Central Intelligence Agency is a staple of conspiracy theories.

The news that the CIA is reportedly part-funding a scientific geoengineering study into how to control the weather is unlikely to dampen speculation over their activities.

According to US website ‘Mother Jones’ the CIA is helping fund a study by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) that will investigate whether humans could use geoengineering – which is defined as deliberate and large-scale intervention in the Earth’s climatic system – to stop climate change.

The 10 GMO Myths That Monsanto Wants You To Believe

Here’s a great overview of the myths surrounding Monsanto and GMO food.

Via The Organic Prepper:

Monsanto and their biotech buddies would have you believe that they are super-heroes, set on saving hungry children from starvation wearing a dazzling fake-green cape. In fact, in a recent attack on activists, Monsanto’s CEO Hugh Grant said that because critics “can afford” organic food, we don’t care about the plight of those who can’t afford it. “There is this strange kind of reverse elitism: If I’m going to do this, then everything else shouldn’t exist,” said Grant. “There is space in the supermarket shelf for all of us.”

Is Jenny McCarthy the most dangerous woman on US television?

Where do you stand on the safety and efficacy of vaccines? Completely harmless or poorly tested with potentially harmful side-effects? Should kids be force vaccinated or is it every parent’s right to make that decision themselves?

Via The Independent:

Owned by Disney, the ABC Network might have wanted to burnish its family-friendly credentials as it scoured the land for a new co-host for its all-female daytime talk show, The View.

Surprisingly, perhaps, they plumped this week for Jenny McCarthy, onetime Playboy cover girl, sex author and comedienne.

Vampire graveyard found in Poland?

So WikiLeaks reveals evidence of extraterrestrials and now vampire graves are found in Poland – whatever next?

Four skeletons were found at the site, where mandatory digs were being carried out prior to the construction of a ring road.

In each case, the deceased had been buried with the head between the legs.

According to folk beliefs, this prevented a possible vampire from finding his or her way back to the land of the living.
